Present Progressive
Present Progressive wird auch ‚Simple Present Progressive‘ oder ‚Present Continuous‘ genannt. Es ist die -ing-Form zum Simple Present und wird ist die englische Zeitform für die sogenannte ‚andauernde Gegenwart‘.

Present Progressive
Verwendung
Andauernde Gegenwart, oder auch Verlaufsform der Gegenwart, wird verwendet, wenn jemand gerade etwas tut und die Handlung noch nicht abgeschlossen ist.

- still
- today
- tonight
- right now
Vergleich zum (Simple) Present: Simple Present wird verwendet, wenn etwas wiederholt (regelmäßig, immer, jeden Tag, oft) oder nie passiert.
- Simple Present: I work in the supermarket. (Ich arbeite im Supermarkt.)
- Simple Present Progressive: I’m working at the supermarket right now. (Ich arbeite jetzt gerade im Supermarkt.)
Bildung des Present Progressive
- Positive Sätze mit am / are / is + ing-Form des Verbs
- Beispiele:
- I’m calling grandma right now. (Ich telefoniere gerade mit Oma.)
- You’re going to the movies tonight. (Du gehst ins Kino heute Abend.)
- She’s doing just fine. (Es geht ihr sehr gut.)
- We are still drinking tea. (Wir trinken immer noch Tee.)
- They are working in the garden today. (Sie arbeiten heute im Garten.)
- You’re having a lot of fun with the game right now. (Ihr habt gerade viel Spaß bei dem Spiel.)
- Negative Sätze mit am / are / is + not + ing-Form des Verbs
- Beispiele:
- I am not talking about it any more. (Ich spreche nicht mehr darüber.)
- It’s not raining now. (Es regnet jetzt nicht mehr.)
- You are not actually believing what you are saying, are you? (Ihr glaubt doch nicht wirklich, was ihr da sagt, oder?)
- She is not expecting a baby. (Sie erwartet kein Baby.)
- I am not working in the supermarket today. (Ich arbeite heute nicht in dem Supermarkt.)
- Fragesätze mit am / are / is + Personalpronomen + ing-Form des Verbs + ?
- Are you still discussing this? (Diskutiert ihr das noch?)
- Are we travelling by train on holiday? (Fahren wir mit der Bahn in den Urlaub?)
